Custom Software for Technology & SaaS

Technology companies and SaaS providers need development partners who understand their world. We help tech companies build products faster, scale infrastructure, and improve engineering practices.

Technology companies have a different problem to every other industry we work with: the software is the business, and the constraints are self-inflicted. Architecture decisions made in the first six months become the ceiling on growth two years later. The roadmap fills with customer-promised features while technical debt quietly compounds underneath, and every sprint becomes a negotiation between shipping and stability. And every serious prospect's first question is whether you integrate with the tools they already use — which means integration work competes with core product work for the same small team. Hiring more engineers is the obvious answer, but in the Australian market that's a six-month process with no guarantee at the end of it.

We work as a product development partner, not a body shop. That can mean taking whole features from your roadmap and shipping them — built in your stack, in your repos, to your code review standards — or building the well-documented public API your customers keep asking for. We work daily with the platforms most SaaS products sit on: Stripe for billing and subscriptions, Auth0 for authentication, AWS and Vercel for infrastructure, GitHub for CI/CD, and Datadog for observability. If the bottleneck is the platform itself, we do architecture reviews that end in a prioritised, practical plan rather than a rewrite recommendation.

Because we're developers selling to developers, we're direct about how the engagement works. Your team keeps ownership of the codebase and the technical direction; we slot into your existing pull request workflow, write tests to your standards, and document what we build so there's no knowledge silo when the engagement ends. There's no minimum commitment designed to keep us embedded — the goal is that your team can maintain and extend everything we ship without us. Everything we produce — code, infrastructure configuration, documentation — is yours from day one, which matters if you're heading toward due diligence for a raise or an acquisition and need a clean IP chain.

We're a Brisbane-based team working with SaaS and technology companies across Australia, from pre-launch founders building an MVP — like Repify, the review automation platform we built end to end — to established products that need senior capacity without a six-month hiring cycle. We scope work into fixed-price milestones so burn is predictable, and you own all code and IP outright. No offshore hand-offs, no agency markup on a rotating cast of juniors.

Tech Software Questions, Answered

Do you work in our existing codebase or start from scratch?

Either. For established products we work in your repos, follow your branching and review process, and ship through your existing CI/CD on GitHub. For new products and MVPs we set up the stack from scratch — typically TypeScript, React or Next.js, Node.js, and AWS or Vercel — with testing and deployment pipelines in place from the first commit.

How much does MVP or feature development cost?

A focused MVP — core workflow, authentication, billing via Stripe, and an admin view — typically starts around $20,000–$50,000. Individual features or integrations scoped from your roadmap often land in the $10,000–$30,000 range. We quote fixed-price per milestone after a technical discovery session, so there is no open-ended hourly burn.

Can you build and document a public API for our platform?

Yes. We design REST or GraphQL APIs with versioning, authentication via Auth0 or API keys, rate limiting, and developer documentation good enough that customers integrate without filing support tickets. We can also build the first-party integrations your sales pipeline keeps stalling on.

How long does a typical engagement run?

MVPs typically take 8–16 weeks to first production release. Feature and integration work runs in 2–6 week milestones. Architecture reviews take 1–3 weeks and end with a written, prioritised report. We ship continuously rather than holding work for a big handover at the end.

Who owns the IP — and what happens at due diligence?

You own all code, infrastructure configuration, and documentation outright from day one, assigned in writing. There are no licence fees and nothing of ours embedded in your product. That clean IP chain matters when investors or acquirers run technical due diligence, and we structure every engagement so it holds up.
